Frequently Asked Questions
is the V Mug safe for preparing baby formula while traveling?
Yes, it is ideal for parents. The kettle features Precision Temperature Control with a specific preset for 45°C, which is the perfect temperature for baby formula. You don't need to guess or cool down boiling water—just set it and pour.
What does "Wide Range Voltage" mean for my travels?
"Wide Range Voltage" means the V Mug is designed to handle unstable power grids. While standard kettles fail or burn out with voltage fluctuations (common in trains or remote areas), our kettle operates safely across a broad range (100V-240V AC), ensuring you can boil water anywhere without worry.
Is the plastic lid safe to drink from?
There is zero plastic contact with your boiling water inside the heating chamber. The interior is made entirely of 304 Food-Grade Stainless Steel, ensuring your water remains pure, hygienic, and free from harmful chemicals or plastic smells.
Can I put this kettle inside my backpack with water in it?
Yes. The V Mug features a secure, leak-proof seal and a rubber flap covering the charging ports. You can carry it in your backpack side pocket or car cup holder without worrying about spills or leaks.
Can I cook instant noodles (Maggi) inside the kettle?
We generally recommend using the V Mug for boiling water and beverages to keep it easy to clean.
AC Mode: Cooking noodles is not recommended in AC mode. The high-speed heating can cause food to stick to the bottom sensor and burn.
Type-C Mode: If you must cook noodles, please use Type-C Mode only. The lower power output boils gently, preventing the noodles from sticking to the bottom
Will using this kettle drain my car battery?
To ensure a safe experience, we strictly recommend keeping your vehicle engine running while the kettle is in use.
Why: While many modern cars have battery protection, using high-power appliances on a stationary battery (especially in older vehicle models) can drain the voltage.
Pro Tip: Always start your engine first, then plug in the kettle to ensure the battery receives constant charge from the alternator.
Can I carry the V Mug Kettle on a flight?
Yes, the V Mug is flight-friendly. Unlike some travel mugs with built-in lithium batteries (which are restricted), the V Mug has no internal battery.
Carry-on: Allowed.
Check-in Luggage: Allowed.
It is strictly a plug-in device, making it 100% compliant with airline safety regulations for carry-on and check-in bags.
Is it leak-proof? Can I throw it in my bag?
es. The lid features a food-grade silicone seal that makes the kettle air-tight and leak-proof. You can store it in your backpack or luggage without worrying about water spilling on your clothes or electronics
Can I power this kettle with my MacBook or Laptop charger?
Yes, provided your charger supports USB-C Power Delivery (PD). The V Mug is compatible with PD chargers ranging from 8W to 65W.
Note: If you use a lower wattage charger (e.g., phone charger ~18W), heating will take longer. For best performance in USB-C mode, we recommend a 45W-65W adapter
Does it have Auto Shut-Off?
Yes, for your safety. The kettle is equipped with an NTC temperature sensor and a smart chip.
Auto-Off: Once the water reaches your selected temperature (e.g., 100°C), it automatically stops heating.
Boil-Dry Protection: If you accidentally turn it on without water, the sensor detects the rapid heat rise and shuts down the device to prevent damage.
Will this kettle fit in my car's cup holder?
Yes, the V Mug is designed with a standard travel mug diameter (approx 80mm base). It fits securely in the central cup holders of most cars (SUVs, Sedans, Hatchbacks) and even truck dashboards, so it stays stable while you drive.
Is the car cable long enough for passengers in the back seat?
he included Type-C to Vehicle Accessory cable is designed for driver and front-passenger convenience. If you need to use it in the back seat, we recommend using a standard USB-C extension or plugging it into a rear USB-C port if your vehicle has one.
Does this work in trucks with 24V batteries
Yes. Unlike cheap car kettles that only work on 12V (cars), the V Mug is a universal vehicle kettle. It automatically detects and supports 12V (Cars) and 24V (Trucks/Buses) systems, making it the perfect companion for truck drivers and long-haul logistics.
Can I plug this into the charging socket on trains?
Yes. The V Mug works perfectly with the standard power outlets found in AC coaches (1A/2A/3A and Chair Car). Its Wide Range Voltage (100-240V) feature protects it from the common power fluctuations found on trains, ensuring a safe boil without tripping the circuit. Type-C (65W) mode is technically safer for train sockets compared to 100-240V AC (300W), however, Please observe local railway safety regulations regarding heating appliances
Why is this better than the pantry car tea?
Hygiene and taste. With your own personal train kettle, you use your own water and ingredients. You get fresh, hot tea or coffee at your seat, 24/7, without relying on pantry service timings or questioning the hygiene of public
Do I need a voltage converter for international travel (e.g., USA vs. UK)?
No converter is needed for the kettle itself. The V Mug supports Global Voltage (100V - 240V).
USA/Japan (110V): It works.
UK/India/Europe (230V): It works.
Note: You may only need a simple "travel adapter" plug to fit the shape of the wall socket in that country.
Why should I pack a kettle if my hotel room has one?
"Hotel Kettle Hygiene" is a major concern for smart travelers. Public hotel kettles are often dirty or used improperly by previous guests. The V Mug is your personal, hygienic water heater—ensuring that the only thing in your water is what you put there.
Is it heavy to carry in a laptop bag?
Not at all. The V Mug weighs only ~700g (roughly the same as a filled water bottle). With its collapsible handle and compact cylindrical shape, it slides easily into laptop bags or backpacks without taking up the space of a traditional bulky kettle.
Can I use my phone charger to boil water?
It depends on the charger. The V Mug requires a USB-C Power Delivery (PD) adapter.
Phone Chargers (18W-30W): It will work, but heating will be slow (45+ minutes) because the power is low.
Laptop Chargers (65W+): This is ideal. Using a 65W adapter (like for a MacBook or Dell XPS) will boil water much faster (approx. 20-25 mins).
Which power bank do I need for camping?
You need a power bank that supports PD Output.
Look for: A power bank rated for 45W or 65W output.
Capacity: A 20,000mAh power bank can typically boil the kettle 2-3 times.
Note: Standard 10W/12W power banks (used for old phones) are too weak to boil water effectively.
Does it support the new USB PD 3.1 protocol?
Yes. The V Mug is future-proof. It is engineered to communicate with PD 2.0 and PD 3.1 protocols. This means it automatically "negotiates" the safest and fastest power speed with your charger, whether it's an 8W trickle charger or a high-speed 65W brick.
